CONTACT: John Christensen, Inez Amado November 26, 1996 BLAZERS PLACE JORDAN ON INJURED LIST, ACTIVATE DJORDJEVIC The Portland Trail Blazers announced Tuesday that they ve placed guard Reggie Jordan on the injured list and have replaced him on the active roster with guard Aleksandar "Sasha" Djordjevic. Jordan injured a joint on his left thumb during Portland's 105-65 win over the Denver Nuggets Saturday at the Rose Garden. Jordan has appeared in five games with the Blazers, averaging 1.6 points, 1.0 assists and 7.6 minutes with a .500 field goal percentage. According to NBA rules, Jordan must miss at least five games and will be unable to return to the active roster until Dec. 5, when the Blazers travel to Denver to face the Nuggets. Djordjevic suffered a sprained right ankle during the first quarter of Portland's final home preseason game, a 98-77 win over the Vancouver Grizzlies Oct. 25. Signed as a free agent on Sept. 24, Djordjevic helped lead Yugoslavia to the Silver Medal at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. During the Olympics, he was Yugoslavia's second leading scorer (11.3 points per game), top assist man (5.6) and shot .850 from the foul line (17-20 Fts).
