GASH controls the source file to the master NIS passwd database. Because
of this, yppasswdd cannot be used to control passwords, unless you

a) do not define USE_SOCIAL_SECURITY, and configure yppasswdd to point to
the user_info file in your GASHDIR

-or-

b) define USE_SOCIAL_SECURITY, configure yppasswdd to point to the user_info
file in your GASHDIR, *and* modify yppasswd so that it will not munge
the social security field, nor choke on it. We have performed these
modifications to the yppasswd provided by Sun, but we are not allowed
to distribute patches to Sun code, at this time.

Your best bet is probably just to leave USE_SOCIAL_SECURITY undefined, unless
you know you want that level of policy enabled and are able to modify the
source to rpc.yppasswdd or do not run the daemon.
