The DataFabric Manager server supports a set of applications that provide advanced functionality to monitor and manage NetApp storage systems. The applications that are included in the DataFabric Manager server are Operations Manager, Performance Advisor, Protection Manager, and Provisioning Manager. The DataFabric Manager server provides infrastructure services for these applications, such as discovery, monitoring, and role-based access control (RBAC) of NetApp storage systems. It also provides services such as auditing and logging for NetApp storage systems.

The DataFabric Manager server is an independent application that runs outside NetApp storage systems. It provides APIs and the command-line interface (CLI) that enable you to interact with NetApp storage systems.
