Tsoft's NFS with a Winsock: There are several ways to do it... You can use Trumpet Winsock along with the latest 0.25 (or later) version of the WatTCP nfsdrvr which has a built-in packet multiplexor. (pktmux is no longer needed; see the WatTCP appendix in the manual for an example config). You can use Novell LAN WorkPlace or the LWP TCP/IP transport included with many third-party applications along with the LWP version of nfsdrvr. The Novell TCP/IP transport includes a winsock.dll but loads in DOS as a TSR and provides TCP/IP support for DOS apps written for it as well. Rumor has it that a SITE license for the TCP/IP transport with winsock can be purchased from Novell for $99 as part number 00662644013411. Note that this differs from the full LWP package (which sells for about $400/single-copy) in that it does not include any applications like ftp and telnet (other than a ping client) but you can use (and register) some of the excellent shareware and freeware winsock applications including telnet and ftp for much cheaper overall. (Purchase the LWP transport from Novell at 1-800-UPDATE1 or authorized Novell resellers). You can use Microsoft's LanMan TCP/IP stack (or stacks from 3Com/HP) with the MS LanMan version of nfsdrvr. The stack is available for anon ftp from ftp.microsoft.com:/Advsys/MSclient. The stack includes a winsock.dll and there is a special version for WfWg. Be sure to install the TCP/IP protocol option when installing Lan Manager and to add the sockets.exe TSR to your autoexec.bat. EMS memory is highly recommended or else this stack uses a lot of base memory. Note that none of our clients can use the WFW VxD TCP yet.
