IDRP -- GateD Configuration File Syntax
Syntax of Merit IDRP Configuration in GateD
A document of the GateD Consortium.
The Merit Network, Inc.
implementation of the Inter-Domain Rout[e]ing Protocol (IDRP)
for the GateD
code base provides for a powerful, flexible implementation of the IDRP
standard (ISO 10949/RFC 1479).
The use of GateD as a base provided a
framework into which IDRP's many features and options have been placed,
many of which have configurable components. The configuration of any
protocol under the current GateD format falls essentially into these
categories:
- Protocol statement--tells the
gated process that the
IDRP protocol will be used, and configures both global and per-peer
options, including various timers and peering sessions.
- Policy statements--provide the filters which are used by the
gated process
to test inbound and outbound routing information for acceptance or redistribution,
respectively.
By selecting either of the above links, one can find a detailed explanation of
the appropriate configuration file statements. (Those who are unfamiliar with the
general syntax of GateD configuration files may wish to review the basic configuration
file syntax by clicking here for the current distribution's documentation.)
