Appendix B
This appendix describes issues and recommendations for using HCTS.
Run only one instance of HCTS on one system at one time. Do not allow more than one instance of HCTS to run on the same system at the same time.
Turn off your browser's cache feature before you run HCTS. If you run HCTS with your browser's cache turned on, you might see stale screens and incorrect data.
Do not use the browser Back button when configuring tests. When you configure a test within HCTS, do not start a second test configuration and then click the Back button on the browser to return to the first test configuration screen. Instead, use the Controller Certification button or the Systems Certification button to configure tests. If you use the browser Back button when you configure tests, HCTS might generate an incorrect test configuration or you might receive an internal system error.
Manually terminate testing if the Stop Tests button does not work. If the Review Results screen does not provide the Copy Test Results button after you select the Stop Tests button, then you must manually terminate the test.
As superuser, kill the staf.eng process:
# pkill -9 staf.eng
Return to the Review Status screen in the HCTS interface and select the Review Test Status Button. Copy any test results that you want to save. When you have copied all the results you want to save, select the Delete All Logs button.
Start Xwindows on the system under test and log on as root before you start a test that includes the video test. Do not log out of the system under test while the video test is running.
