Viewing Software Inventory

User Access: All users.

You can view details for each Service Processor software component by selecting Software from the Inventory menu in the menu bar. You can view information about the currently installed software as well as any uninstalled software found on the external file system (if configured). To view uninstalled software, mark the checkbox Include external software at the top of the table. The value "External Package" displays in the Install Date column if found.

SM Console Usage:

The following types of information display for each component:

Element Description
Name The name of the software package.
Install Date

For installed software, displays the date on which this software was installed.

For uninstalled software, displays "External Package."

Revision

The version of the software package.

Format: (V|X)M.N(.P.B)
where:

V or X identifies production (V) or pre-production (X) software. X requires P or B.
M is an integer identifying a major release.
N is an integer identifying a minor release.
P is an integer identifying a patch release.
B is an integer identifying an internal build. Only present with a leading X. Used internally and externally to identify pre-production (alpha, beta) software.

Description A description of new features, fixes, or other information.
Revision Name Optional; the platform operating system displays the revision name in this field.
Dependencies

Software and hardware dependencies. This can be a list of software or hardware by name, along with minimum revision number and optional maximum revision number.

You can also use inventory get software to perform this function at the command line.
