SM Console Usage:
Follow these steps to start or stop the platform operating system:
| Option | Description |

| Power On / Restart | The Power On/Restart operation starts the platform operating system. |
| The Boot into BIOS Setup option stops the boot process allowing you to modify the BIOS settings from the platform console. Once you have selected this option to boot to BIOS setup, you must then access the BIOS configuration screen to change BIOS settings. To do so remotely, you can log in via an SSH client or from the SM Console by choosing Troubleshooting>SP SSH Console. You can then execute the platform console command. | |
| The Forced Restart option bypasses the operating system shutdown stage during a system restart and may cause a loss of data. | |
| Shutdown / Power Off | The Shutdown/Power Off operation shuts down the platform operating system and powers off the machine. |
| The Forced Power Off option bypasses the operating system shutdown stage and may cause a loss of data. The Forced Power Off option is useful when you need to force a shutdown. |
