The Systems Management Console (SM Console) is comprised of the following elements:

| Toolbar | The toolbar is located at the top of the SM Console. It provides visual representations of system status, links to management console functions, and access to the online help system. |
| Menu Bar | The menu bar is located on the left, adjacent to the data panel, and provides a hierarchical menu system of options. |
| Data Panel | The data panel is the main display area that appears on the right. Content in this panel varies according to the menu options you select from the menu bar. Note that there are two tabs at the top of the data panel that enable you to view components in the top or bottom layer of the server. |
| Help Panel | Help text displays in the bottom panel and provides information and system messages whenever you move your mouse over a visual element in the Console. |
