Add Device Manually

The Device Addition feature enables you to add a Sun StorEdge 6320 or 6320SL series system, a switch, or a Sun T3, T3+, or 6120 array or a Sun 3510 array. Once added, the device appears in the Topology and you can perform further diagnostic functions.

Device parameter fields that you can add include:

• Type
  Select device type. Options include the Sun StorEdge 6320 series rack, and Sun StorEdge arrays.
• IP Address
  Enter the IP address of the device type.
  Note: This is the only mandatory field.
• Contact
  Enter the name of the person responsible for the device you are adding.
• Location
  Enter the location of the device. The default is the location specified in Administration --> Site Properties.
• Management Application
  Enables users to store URL bookmarks on a device-by-device basis. It provides an easy way to launch applications without having to open a browser window and type in the URL manually.

Note:

Give the management application a meaningful name (for example, StorADE system edition). This is the name that is displayed in the Assets Summary Action column. By clicking its link from the Assets Summary page, you launch the application.
