Email Notification Contract

The Email Notification provider transfers event and alert information collected by the Sun StorEdge Diagnostic Expert by way of email, to the local SMTP server that was specified in the Notification Configuration window.

An Email Notifcation Contract binds a set of criteria to an email address. Creating a Email Notification Contract also creates a Contract ID which can be used by the ssde CLI interface to display and delete contracts.

You can add email recipients or modify existing email recipients using the Email Notification screen.

To add or modify email notification contract(s):

  1. Click the Notification tab from the Sun StorEdge Diagnostic Expert main menu.
  2. Click the Email Notification link.
    A list of current email recipients is displayed.
  3. To add an email contract, click Add.
  4. Specify the notification type: email or pager.
    Note: Pager notifications are smaller in content than email notifications.
  5. To customize the list of email or pager notifications, you can change the some or all of the following parameters:

    You are returned to the Email Notification screen and a Notification Addition confirmation message is displayed.
  7. To delete an email notification contract from the list, select its corresponding checkbox and click Delete.
    A Notification Deletion confirmation message is displayed.
