Narrow the Alarms List
Filters provide a means by which you can narrow your list of displayed alarms.
- From the Alarms List summary, click the boxed arrow icon displayed to the right of the Acknowledge button.
Note: The Acknowledge button preserves the Alarms list.
An Alarm Filter dialog box is displayed.
- Filter the alarms displayed based on the following criteria:
- Device type--select the device type from the pull-down menu.
Options include Host, Sun StorEdge Solution Rack, Switch, Sun 3510 array, Sun StorEdge T3 or
T3+ array, and Sun StorEdge 6120 array.
- Topic--the default is All Topics. Options are Communication State Change Alert, FRU State Change Alert, and Log Entry Alert.
- State--the default is Open. Click Cleared to clear an alarm.
Note: Clearing an alarm does not clear the condition that caused the alarm.
- Acknowledged--indicate whether the alarm has been acknowledged. The default is Unacknowledged.
- Click a link in the Description field to display the Alarm Details screen.
- Alarm Details provide recommended action for fault resolution. In addition, it provides a link to the Assets Summary page.
- Depending on the alarm's topic, the Alarm Detail screen might also display a correlated event or a correlated alarm. Correlated events and alarms are those that occurred in conjunction with the alarm you are currently viewing.
- To view details about alarms by severity level, click one of the links
under the Alarms page tab:
- All (default for this page)
- Down
- Critical
- Major
- Minor
