The NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) POSIX Testing Policy states the following: | | 6.4.1.1 Validated FIPS 151-2 Product | | The APTL must provide the name of the supplier of the software product tested | and must accurately identify the product. The identification must include | the name of the product and any other product designations needed to uniquely | define the tested product. The product identified represents the operating | system tested. This product must contain, if needed, automated procedures | for configuration control during installation. Implementations requiring the | operating system to be manually "patched" cannot be identified as required | and will not be validated. If the system is not in a POSIX conforming state when installed to execute the test suite, the vendor must provide an automated process to setup the environment prior to the execution of the test suite. An installed Solaris 2.3 has the tty ports set to specific defaults which will initiate failures when the POSIX test suite is executed. The solution is to modify the default port settings and have the system rebooted.
