In addition, message bodies are now properly line-wrapped when sent to the printer. 1136780 The maximum length of the To:, Subject:, Cc:, and Bcc: fields is 511 characters. The maximum length of the Keywords: field is 127 characters. 1143467 In the SelectMAIL configuration program LLCONF, the value zero (0) is now valid for the notification display duration ("notify-length"). 1145254 The address-book and white-pages directory build program (BUILDDIR) now accept text input lines of up to 511 characters. Lines longer than that are ignored and the user is informed of those cases. pll654 Composed messages were being lost when, while attempting to send the message, there was not enough memory available, and the recovery mechanism to save the composed message did not operate correctly. pll655 Fixed the problem where a selection of a white-pages or address-book entry whose name exceeded 25 characters in length would cause the PC to hang. pll656 The problem indicating a corrupt packed file (RCVMAIL.EXE) has been eliminated. pll658 The address-book and white-pages build program (BUILDDIR.EXE) now accepts punctuation characters as valid first characters in an Email ID. pll659 When selecting the Remove Folder command, the user is prompted for a Y/N confirmation before proceeding. When a 'N' was pressed to cancel the Remove operation, the folder was removed anyway. pll660 The positioning of the keyword prompts (To:, Subject:, Cc:, Bcc:, and Keywords:) in the window has been altered to allow more display space for the headers which tend to be used more, namely the To: and Cc: fields. A pop-up window will be displayed adjacent to the header field being actively edited. This pop-up will move and re-size as the user tabs through from field to field. When a field is not actively being edited in the pop-up, it is displayed within he allotted space, truncating the display (but not the contents) if necessary. pll665 The positioning of the columns is now subject to configuration, as indicated in Sections 2 and 3. Depending on the configuration, the display will either be in Name/Email ID/Comment order (the default), or in Name/Comment/Email ID order. pll670 The Solaris V3 Mailtool header line "X-Sun-Data..." was always being inserted after the first blank line of the message body, when configured for SelectMAIL format. This has been changed so that it is only done if a file is attached to the message. pll674 Line lengths of the text in the Read window did not always agree with those of the same messages in the Compose window. Line wrapping logic has been improved to remedy this. pll676 The error message box concerning the lack of a password being automatically supplied in the environment, which appears when starting SelectMAIL, no longer will be evident. pll677 Changed the conditions under which SelectMAIL checks for the /S switch on the PCNFS.SYS command in CONFIG.SYS. It now only occurs if the user has configured to auto-check his mailbox. pll693 The indexing of mail messages in any given mail file, such as the 'record' file, would become corrupted if, when appending a new mail message to the file, a line of text in a message body started with the exact 5-character sequence "From " and this line was preceded by a blank line. pll702 When mail is spooled for sending via SMTP, the fully qualified mailbox name, i.e. {username}@{hostname}.{domainname} is constructed and placed in the From: header of the spool file. The mailhost cannot always be relied upon to expand an abbreviated form of this header when delivering to other mail domains. None The opening alert box, which appears on startup of SelectMAIL after the retrieval of new mail, has been eliminated. Also, a problem of contradictory information about the state of new mail, namely a flashing "NEW" signal appearing when the user's inbox is actually empty, has been fixed.
