NoBugID: the tapetest change for DLT drives (Esc# 516076) 4174977: vtsprobe incorrectly identifies saip devices. 4172713: m64test core dumps when run in 24-bit mode with res set to 640x480x60 on PGX24. (from 107543-01) 4159925: "UEx000 167Mhz512kb CPU - passed POST/SunVTS, but failed compress/uncompress test" This patch augments the existing SunVTS test suite with cpudatatest in order to detect CPU's which may pass other tests and yet fail a compress/uncompress sequence. 4183870: "The svrmgr1 command of ORACLE8 dumps core under bad cpu module." This patch augments the existing SunVTS test suite with cpudatatest in order to detect CPU's which may exhibit the same failure mode. Patch Installation Instructions: -------------------------------- For Solaris 7 release, refer to the man pages for instructions on using 'patchadd' and 'patchrm' scripts provided with Solaris. Any other special or non-generic installation instructions should be described below as special instructions. The following example installs a patch to a standalone machine: example# patchadd /var/spool/patch/106326-01 The following example removes a patch from a standalone system: example# patchrm 104945-02 For additional examples please see the appropriate man pages. Special Install Instructions: ----------------------------- None. Special Notes ------------- 1) See cpudatatest.txt for a description of command line usage and ERROR messages. 2) This patch provides both 32 bit and 64 bit binaries located in the /SUNWvts/bin and /SUNWvts/bin/sparcv9 directories respectively. Where the default base.install.dir is /opt . 3) "cpudatatest" representation on the status panel of SunVTS OpenLook screen is too long so one or two characters may overlap with "Passes" labels. 4) The user should not attempt to change the Processor Affinity for any instance of cpudatatest because the test is designed to run with the defaults assigned during probing. 5) If 'Connection test' mode is selected do not change the System or Group Concurrency values in the options/schedule dialogue box from the default value. A Concurrency value other than '1' prevents cpudatatest from executing as expected when this mode is selected. 6) The following bugs have been filed in connection with the previous cpudatatest patch 107542-01 for SunVTS 2.1.3: Bug Id: 4240007 - UI (CDE/OL/TTY) would vanish if user attempt to alter "cpudatatest" This is a UI problem which has been corrected in SunVTS 3.0; see BugId 4130881. Bug Id: 4240072 - vtstty (TTY User Interface) would produce a core with entry to "cpudatest" This is a vtstty UI problem which will be addressed in a later release of SunVTS. The simplest workaround is to restart the UI if it should vanish and then run cpudatatest with the default parameters. The problem has only been observed when the user has attempted to change cpudatatest's parameters from the UI. README -- Last modified date: Tuesday, May 8, 2001
