Problem Description: 4209555 - Install fails to add SNC services to the control panel on Windows NT 4.0 systems with SP4 or SP5 installed. Services can be added to the control panel manually. Patch Installation Instructions: ------------------------------- This patch is for installing SNC 3.2 on WinNT systems with Service Pack 4 or 5 installed. This patch is packaged as a self-extracting compressed file (10768901.exe). It must be installed from Windows. To create a "patched" SNC install image, copy the Pcpro3 directory from the SNC 3.2 CDROM to the \Program Files\Solstice directory on the NT system's hard drive. Creating the Solstice directory if necessary. Download 10768901.exe to a temporary directory on the NT system. In Windows, select "Run" from the "Start" menu. Enter the path and patch filename (Example: c:\temp\10768901.exe) then select "OK". The patch will uncompress and start the setup program automatically. Follow the setup program prompts to complete the patch installation. Windows will restart when the patch install is complete. In Windows, select "Run" from the "Start" menu. Enter the path to the SNC setup program (c:\Program Files\Solstice\Pcpro3\setup.exe) then select "OK". SNC will install correctly. The patched image of the SNC CDROM can be used for network or local installation of SNC. The disk image of the Pcpro3 directory, from the CDROM, must be created as \Program Files\Solstice\Pcpro3 for the patch to install correctly. The Pcpro3 directory can be deleted after SNC is installed. Installation Notes: All drive letter and directory name references are Solstice Network Client defaults. If you have installed Solstice Network Client or the patch file on a different drive, or in a different directory, substitute your drive and directory names in the example commands above.
