Problem Description:

4318279 es-device script gives error when try to run on OS 2.8
In the /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-device script has line tr ''a-z'' ''A-Z'' it suppose to be tr ''[a-z]'' ''[A-Z]''.  Due of this problem es-device script will fail when you try to add new type of device.
