See special instructions for installing and backing-out the patch, below. Special Install Instructions: ----------------------------- NOTE: Before installing this patch, make sure that RASAgent is at revision 2.1r6 or greater (i.e. add Patch 111893-02 to RASAgent 2.1r5, which will bring RASAgent to version 2.1r7, then add this patch). After installing the patch, follow these RASAgent setup steps: 1. Fill in the mandatory fields (denoted by "*") in the "Master Configuration" window (it either comes up when you login or click on Maintenance -> Maintain Hosts -> ). 2. At the bottom of the page is a "Categories to Monitor" section where you should see "D2". Click on it and then click on Submit. NOTE: if you have not filled in all the mandatory fields, an error will be displayed at the top of the page and you will have to go back to Step 3. 3. In the left side-bar click on "Start/Stop Agents", and then click on the Start button and then "Update Agents State", if you have not already done so. 4. If you want email notification, click on "Email Notification" in the left side-bar. This step is optional. 5. In the left side-bar click on "Discovery" and then on "D2". This should find all the D2s attached. 6. If you want to run the the Agents "manually", click on System at the top and then on "RUN Agent" on the left. Then click on the RUN button. NOTE: the Agents are run by cron (default every 5 minutes). Clicking on "RUN Agent" occasionally collides with the Agents run by cron. 7. To view a D2 report, click on Monitor at the top and then on "Instrumentation" on the left. Then select Host to view in upper right hand corner. Click on "Go", now select "Report" for the desired D2. If you are going to setup a Slave, after normal Slave setup, follow these steps: 1. Make sure "D2" has been selected in "Categories to Monitor" on the Master (see Steps #1 and #2 above). 2. Click on Maintenance -> Maintain Hosts and then do the following for each Slave: - click on the ; - then click on "D2" in "Categories to Monitor"; - and then click on the Update button. 3. In the left side-bar click on "Discovery" and then on "D2". This should find all the D2s attached to the Master and Slaves. 4. In the left side-bar click on "Push Configs" and D2 Slave setup should be complete. Special Backout Instructions: ----------------------------- Before backing-out the patch, follow these RASAgent configuration steps: 1. Go to the "Master Configuration" window (it either comes up when you login or click on Maintenance -> Maintain Hosts -> ) and move to the bottom of the page to the "Categories to Monitor" section where you should see "D2". Click on it to remove the check mark and then click on Submit. 2. Then click on Maintenance -> Maintain Devices and for each D2 type device, click on it and Delete it. If you do not remove the D2 devices before removing the patch you will have to erase and rediscover all devices. 3. Then use 'patchrm' to remove the patch on the Master and any Slaves.
