Patch Installation Instructions:

The procedure for installing a patch release can differ slightly from the
procedure for installing the Sun 3270 Pathway software from a
CD-ROM, as described in the Installation Guide.
 
To install a patch release
 
1. Create a staging directory on your system for the zip file
you will download from SunSolve. For example:
 
mkdir /pkgs/pathway_patches
 
2. On SunSolve, select the patch and download it to the staging directory.
 
4. Change to the unload directory and unzip the file. For example, type the
command:
 
unzip /pkgs/pathway_patches/112477-03.zip
 
This command will unpack the 4 different formats of distribution media for
Sun 3270 Pathway into a directory structure similar to the following:
 
/pkgs/pathway_patches/112477-03/3270_Pathway_1.5.0_112477-03.exe
/pkgs/pathway_patches/112477-03/3270_Pathway_1.5.0_112477-03.tar.Z
/pkgs/pathway_patches/112477-03/3270_Pathway_1.5.0_112477-03.tar.gz
/pkgs/pathway_patches/112477-03/3270_Pathway_1.5.0_112477-03.zip

You should then select the installation media file appropriate to the
platform on which you wish to install the patch:
 
3270_Pathway_1.5.0_112477-03.exe    : Windows 32bit InstallShield executable
                                    (including Java Runtime Environment (JRE)).
3270_Pathway_1.5.0_112477-03.zip    : Windows/Generic ZIP archive
3270_Pathway_1.5.0_112477-03.tar.Z  : Solaris/Generic compressed tar archive
3270_Pathway_1.5.0_112477-03.tar.gz : Solaris/Generic gunzip tar archive

Special Install Instructions:

The installation procedure for the ".zip", ".tar.gz", and "tar.Z" is the same
as for the original Sun 3270 Pathway product. Consult the Sun 3270 Pathway
User's guide for details.
 
If you are installing the 32-bit InstallShield executable on a system where a
previous version of Pathway is installed, select one of the following
installation methods:
 
Method 1:
---------
a) On Windows, select Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs.
b) Select the entry titled 'Sun Microsystems 3270 Pathway Version 1.5.0' 
   and remove it.
c) Install the new "exe".
 
Method 2:
---------
a) Run the new "exe".
b) When the "Modify, Repair or Remove" dialog appears, select "Repair".
c) Select "OK" on the subsequent dialog warning of repairing one version/build
with another.
d) The files of the previous Pathway installation will now be updated with
the new versions.
