Patch Installation Instructions:
--------------------------------
 
The procedure for installing a patch release can differ slightly from the
procedure for installing the Sun MTP Client software from a
CD-ROM, as described in the Installation Guide.
 
To install a patch release
 
1. Create a staging directory on your system for the zip file
you will download from SunSolve. For example:
 
mkdir /pkgs/MTP_Client_patches
 
2. On SunSolve, select the patch and download it to the staging directory.
 
4. Change to the unload directory and unzip the file. For example, type the
command:
 
unzip /pkgs/MTP_Client_patches/113835-02.zip
 
This command will unpack the 2 different formats of distribution media for
Sun MTP Client into a directory structure similar to the following:
 
/pkgs/MTP_Client_patches/113835-02/MTP_Client_7.2.0_113835-02.exe
/pkgs/MTP_Client_patches/113835-02/MTP_Client_7.2.0_113835-02.SunOS.tar
/pkgs/MTP_Client_patches/113835-02/README.113835-02
 
You should then select the installation media file appropriate to the
platform on which you wish to install the patch:
 
MTP_Client_7.2.0_113835-02.exe        : Windows 32bit InstallShield executable
MTP_Client_7.2.0_113835-02.SunOS.tar  : Solaris/Generic tar archive

Special Install Instructions:
-----------------------------
 
The Solaris version now contains the Sun MTP CCI Gateway and ECI Resource 
Adapter. Please refer to the README.ccigateway file in the root directory
of the installation for further details.
 
The installation procedure for the "tar" is the same as for the original
MTP Client product. Consult the Sun MTP Client User's guide for details.
 
If you are installing the 32 bit InstallShield executable on a system where a
previous version of MTP Client is installed, select one of the following
installation methods:
 
Method 1:
---------
a) On Windows, select Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs.
b) Select the entry titled 'Sun Microsystems MTP Client' and remove it.
c) Install the new "exe".
 
Method 2:
---------
a) Run the new "exe".
b) When the "Modify, Repair or Remove" dialog appears, select "Repair".
c) Select "OK" on the subsequent dialog warning of repairing one version/build
   with another.
d) The files of the previous MTP Client installation will now be updated with
   the new versions.
