If you are using the MTP product, this MSF patch release requires that you also use, at the minimum, MTP patch release, patch id 112750-01. The procedure for installing a patch release differs slightly from the procedure for installing the Sun Mainframe Transaction Processing software from a CD-ROM, as described in the Installation Guide. To install a patch release 1. Create a staging directory on your system for the zip file you will download from SunSolve. For example: mkdir /pkgs/msf_patches 2. On SunSolve, select the patch, download it to the staging directory. 3. If you have a previous installation of MSF, make a note of the top level directory where it is installed, such as /pkgs/msf. If this is your first installation, follow the directions in the Installation Guide for setting up the installation directory. 4. Change to the installation directory and extract the contents of the zip file. For example, type the commands: cd /pkgs/msf unzip /pkgs/msf_patches/113889-02.zip This command will install the MSF files into the following directory structure: /pkgs/msf/113889-02/MSF1.0.0p2/ This README file will also be copied to the /pkgs/msf/113889-02 directory. Refer to the /pkgs/msf/113889-02/MSF1.0.0p2/docs/updated_user_doc.txt file for documentation updates. 5. If you have an existing setup file, you must update the EMPSECURITY environment variable to point to this new installation directory. If you do not have a setup file, follow the directions in the Installation Guide for creating one.
