Patch-ID# 117176-01 Keywords: mount Synopsis: SunOS 5.9_x86: mount Patch Date: Aug/09/2004 ********************************************************* Patch 117176-01 has been re-instated on June 9, 2005. Patch 117176-02 was withdrawn. Reason: After installing patch 117176-02, attempts to share a filesystem with multiple security options may fail. If these failures occur, errors from `nfs_server` may appear in the system logs during bootup and entries from the system`s dfstab will be missing from the output of the `share` command. Please refer BugID 6277307 for more information. Recommendation: For x86 systems that act as nfs file servers, patch 117176-02 should be backed out, a reboot is only needed if entries in the dfstab are missing from the current output of the `share` command. Alternatively, for x86 systems only, 117468-04 or above may be installed without backing out 117176-02. If this alternative is chosen, the system must be immediately rebooted. ********************************************************* Install Requirements: Reboot after installation Solaris Release: 9_x86 SunOS Release: 5.9_x86 Unbundled Product: Unbundled Release: Xref: This patch available for SPARC as patch 117175 Topic: SunOS 5.9_x86: mount Patch Relevant Architectures: i386 BugId's fixed with this patch: 4901380 Changes incorporated in this version: 4901380 Patches accumulated and obsoleted by this patch: Patches which conflict with this patch: Patches required with this patch: Obsoleted by: Files included with this patch: /usr/lib/fs/nfs/mount Problem Description: 4901380 Forked NFS mount process uses stderr but has none.
