The system MUST BE IDLE during the download process! No other programs should be running while using this utility is being used and no IO activity from host. If any upgrade failures occur, do not continue upgrading devices. Loss of power during download can result in damage to the devices under upgrade and require replace. Stop I/O to the array. 6. Verify the current controller firmware using the firmware application menu. 7. Make certain to quiesce bus 8. Open a terminal window on the host that will be used to download the firmware. Change your working directory, if necessary, to the directory in which the patch was unpacked and confirm that the D_HDS7250SASUN500G_0404.dlp file is present using the "ls" command. 9. Type "cd /var/sadm/swimages/124945-01" and then run the Command "./csmservice -s" Follow the instruction and #6 from the menu to download disk drive firmware. Path to the 0404 drive firmware file is /var/sadm/swimages/124945-01 When download is done you may use #1 from the menu to verify the drive firmware version. The new version should shows "LP1145-K2AOAJ0A (0404)". 10 After installation of the firmware Reset the controller one at a time Reset Controller A and after it is up Reset Controller B !!! NOTE !!! Java Exception message "SEVERE: Could not make connection to the controller." is expected during the download due to a known problem in the interposer card. When download is done, wait about 2 minutes and use #1 from the menu to verify the drive firmware version. The new version should shows "LP1145-K2AOAJ0A (0404)".
