This patch includes firmware installing utility (csmservice) that is required for installing drive firmware in 6140 RAID enclosures. To install the contents of this patch see the pertinent section below. ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** A. ******************6140 System Installation Instructions *************** An Ethernet connection for the array is required because this is OUT OF BAND installation Unpack the patch into any convenient directory such as /var/tmp, and refer to the Special Install Instructions below. Special Install Instructions: ----------------------------- 1. FTP the 124955-01.zip file to the machine used to monitor the system. 2. rlogin to the machine used to monitor the system. 3. Unzip the 124955-01.zip file. 4. Stop I/O to the array. 5. Verify the current controller firmware using the firmware application menu. 6. Make certain to quiesce bus 7. From a command prompt window, cd \124955-01 8. If Common Array Manager (CAM) 5.0.2.1 is not installed, add path to java command to your %PATH%. 9. Execute csmservice -s Follow the instruction and #6 from the menu to download disk drive firmware. The 0404 drive firmware file is D_HDS7250SASUN500G_0404.dlp in the current working directory. 10 After installation of the firmware Reset the controller one at a time Reset Controller A and after it is up Reset Controller B !!! NOTE !!! Java Exception message "SEVERE: Could not make connection to the controller." is expected during the download due to a known problem in the interposer card. When download is done, wait about 2 minutes and use #1 from the menu to verify the drive firmware version. The new version should shows "LP1145-K2AOAJ0A (0404)".
